Strict measures will be taken to ensure the health and safety of players, parents, coaches, and other volunteers, including:

  • All on-ice activities limited to 25 participants.
  • Using “Bubble Leagues“ with a maximum of 50 players to limit the participants our players and coaches will come into contact with
  • Strict facility entry protocols, including self-screening of all participants
  • Comprehensive records of player participation in games and practices, to assist with contact tracing if required
  • A detailed plan for how we will respond to any suspected, probable, or potential Covid-19 cases
  • Modified games rules (as defined by the OWHA) will be used to limit/reduce physical contact

For more details on the procedures and protocols we will follow, please review the BWHA’s Return to Hockey Plan.

  • Saturday Sep-26: final registration numbers will be determined,  A full list of registered players will be forwarded and the final number per division will be provided for review / input by the BWHA Executive
  • Tuesday, Sep-29: all players will be informed that their registration has been approved
  • Thursday, Sep-30: the preliminary schedule for our Fundamentals and Youth House League season will be released. The full schedule for October to December will follow by October 8, 2020.
  • Sunday, Oct-3: practices will begin for all divisions (No ice times are planned for Thanksgiving weekend).

Release Process for External Players:

For players who were registered with another OWHA association last year or in seasons past: registering with the BWHA initiates a release request to your former association, who then must approve the release. In many cases, this is seamless. However, associations can also have their own internal release request process, so players are encouraged to reach out to their former association to request a release, if they have not yet done so. Players will be informed, prior to the start of games on October 3rd, if any further action to secure a release is required.
