Hurray!!! Our first full season in three seasons has been completed and what an amazing season it was.
First off, we want to thank and congratulate all of our Barrie Teams for a great season. Thank you to all of our amazing coaches, team staff and division convenors. A big thanks goes out to all of our amazing parents for supporting your players and of course a big thanks to all of our amazing players. We could not do this without all of you.
We also want to thank our SMGHL partner centres Collingwood Lightning, Huntsville Sting, North Simcoe Capitals and Orillia Hawks. It was great to watch some amazing games. A big thank you goes out to all of our Barrie sponsors including OZ Sports, Sports Medicine, Skate Zone, Por-Star Sports, Movement HQ, Powerline Screen, Take 5 Oil change and Domino’s Pizza for making sure everyone had some pizza to enjoy during Championship Day and Anita White for making sure that it all arrived right on schedule. Thank you to Tim Hortons (Huronia Road location) for providing us coffee, hot chocolate and treats for our players and families for both Championship Day and our U7 FUN day. It was all a big hit. A Big thanks goes out to ALL the volunteers involved in hockey and bringing all of our centres together. Volunteers are what makes all of this come together and we could not do it without you.
Championship Day was amazing and there were smiles all around including the players and the parents. Thank you to everyone who helped make the season and Championship day a success. There was some hard fought games. We had 4 games go into a Shout out and another game go into over time and then into a shoot out that took every single player on the bench to finally determine a winner. These games were all very exciting to watch.
There are some U18 players that will be taking that next big step in their lives that have grown up playing hockey but it is now time to move on. Good Luck with all of your future endeavours.
We even had visitors join us during the day as Team Switzerland was there cheering on our teams. They watched and cheered for every team that scored and even took the time to interact with some of our players.
