Covid-19 Protocols and Vaccine Requirements


General Covid-19 Information:

Please review the BWHA's Return to Hockey Plan and ensure that all protocols are followed at all times.

Participants must also complete the screening process for each arena, prior to each hockey activity.

Where an individual tests positive, or has been identified as a close contact of a positive case, please advise your team manager/coach as soon as possible. If any questions or concerns, please reach out to covid@bwha.ca

 

Facility Entry & Vaccine Requirements

The procedure to be followed for facility entry and requirements for proof of vaccine vary depending on the location of your hockey activity.

City of Barrie (Allandale R. C., Eastview Arena, East Bayfield C.C., Holly C.C., Sadlon Arena)

Facility Entry:

Everyone (including players, parents and coaches) entering a City of Barrie Recreation Facility must complete the Facility Screening app before entry.

As of October 29, limits on entry time before games and dressing room capacities have been removed.

Dressing rooms will be available 45 minutes before ice time, and showers are again available. Participants must continue to wear masks at all times in the dressing rooms and other areas, removing them only right before taking the ice, or while showering.

Vaccine Requirements:

As of September 22, 2021 proof of vaccination is required for the following individuals entering City of Barrie recreation facilities:

  • All visitors 18 and older
  • Youth spectators 12-17 (not participating)
  • Participants using weight rooms or exercise equipment (all ages)
  • Any youth 12-17 not actively participating in an organized sport

Town of Innisfil (Stroud-Innisfil Community Centre, South Innsifil-Lefroy Community Centre, Innisfil Recreation Complex) 

Facility Entry:

Everyone (including players, parents and coaches) entering a Town of Innisfil Recreation Facility must complete the Facility Screening app before entry.

For the IRC-GOLD arena, park in the north parking lot, and use only the north entrance to access the building. For the IRC-RED arena, park in the south parking lot, and use only the south entrance to access the building.

Doors will open 30 minutes before activity.

Dressing rooms are provided and showers are again available. Participants must continue to wear masks at all times in the dressing rooms and other areas, removing them only right before taking the ice, or while showering. All participants must must exit the dressing rooms no later than 20 minutes after their ice time concludes.

Vaccine Requirements:

As of September 22, 2021 proof of vaccination is required for ALL individuals entering Town of Innisfil recreation facilities, with the following exceptions:

  • Youth under 12 years of ages
  • Youth under 18 years of age actively participating in an organized sport, including training, practices, games and competitions
  • Individuals between the ages of 12 and 18 attending our organized sports programming, such as volleyball and dance classes. 
  • Individuals over 12 years of age for any reason if Medically Exempt

National Training Rinks

Facility Entry:

All parents must submit an electronic waiver for their child prior to arrival at National Training Rinks.

1 spectator per child permitted, all spectators must be over 18
 
Players and parents asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to their hockey activity.
 
Vaccine Requirements:
 
All visitors will have to show valid proof of identification and proof of second vaccination not later than 14 days prior to entry to the facility. The only acceptable exemptions are listed below:
  • Anyone under 12 years of age
  • Anyone under 18 years of age AND entering the facility to participate on the ice
  • Medical Exemptions

Nottawasaga - Centre Ice Sportsplex

Facility Entry:

Each person entering the arena is to sign in at the Registration Desk in the Main Lobby and be directed to their assigned changeroom. Each person must complete a COVID 19 screening and submit contact information.

Arrive no sooner than 20 minutes before your reserved ice time and depart immediately following your ice time to avoid congestion.

Changerooms will be open with a limit of (11) people per changeroom

Vaccine Requirements:
 
All visitors 18 years and older must be fully vaccinated and show proof of full vaccination + 14 days from the date of last vaccination as well as government issued photo ID with name and birth date before entering the building.
 
All spectators over the age of 12 must be fully vaccinated and show proof of full vaccination + 14 days from the date of last vaccination as well as proof of identity with name and birth date before entering the building.
 
Exemptions only apply for the following: Participants under 18 years of age who are entering the facility solely for the purpose of actively participating in an organized sport (ie. training, practices, games and competitions).  Proof of vaccination is not required for workers or volunteers including coaches.

Important Note: BWHA players, volunteers and parents are expected to treat the recreation facility staff and other users with the utmost respect at all times.  We have a Zero Tolerance for harassment. Anyone found to be acting in a disrespectful or uncivil manner will be asked to leave the facility and will face consequences that could include suspension from the facility, loss of ice time for the organization being represented, and/or fines. All such individuals will also be subject to further discipline through the BWHA and OWHA code of conduct - up to and including suspension the player related to such individuals.
