Billets Needed - Barrie Jr Sharks
The Barrie Jr. Sharks Female Hockey Club is seeking caring, committed billet families to host our female athletes from mid-August through mid-April.

Billeting is one of the cornerstones of a successful junior hockey program. It provides our players with a stable, supportive home environment while they pursue both their athletic, scholastic and personal development. In turn, many billet families form lifelong friendships and bonds with their players, enriching their own family life through this unique experience.

What We’re Looking For:

Our coaching and management staff work diligently to recruit not only talented hockey players, but respectful, responsible young women with strong character and values. We aim to match each player with a billet family that suits her personality, lifestyle, and any special considerations such as allergies, pets, or children in the home.

Expectations of Billet Families:

  • Provide a clean, welcoming, and family-oriented environment

  • Offer nutritious meals or have appropriate food available for the player to prepare meals

  • Support curfew compliance and communicate openly with team management

  • Provide transportation to/from East Bayfield Recreation Centre (if necessary)

What You Can Expect:

  • Monthly financial support of $500–$550 - paid directly to the billet family by the player/player's family

  • Guidance and support from our Jr. Sharks management

  • A rewarding experience as a positive influence in a young.  female athlete’s life

Key Dates:

  • Players arrive mid-August

  • Season runs until mid-April

If you're interested in learning more about becoming a billet family or would like to apply, please don’t hesitate to reach out.  We would love to connect with you to discuss how you can get involved in this meaningful and rewarding role within the Jr. Sharks family.
