Sharks Claim Bronze
The U11B Sharks headed to Cambridge this past weekend to compete in the annual New Years Classic tournament. The girls went 2-1 during the round robin portion of the event, with wins over North Halton and Waterloo.
With second overall clinched in their pool, the team had to face the first overall in pool B, Oshawa, in the semifinals. With a tough fought loss to Oshawa and Cambridge losing to Brantford, the girls would play for bronze against the home tournament team. With the girls playing their 5th game of the weekend, they played great shut down hockey lead by the goaltending of Madison and with goals by Laniel and an empty net goal by Kennedy to seal the bronze metal. The whole team had an amazing tournament playing their best hockey of the year, and the Coaching staff would like to thank all the Parents and Family of the girls for all the support they have shown this year so far. The team currently has a record of 7-7-1 on the season and are sitting in the upper half in their league standings. Lot of exciting things are on the horizon for this group during the remainder of the season. GO SHARKS GO!!!.
