My name is Dan Pellarin and I am excited to be the head coach of the U13AA Barrie Sharks for the coming season. Below, we have outlined important information regarding the tryout process, schedule, and evaluation criteria. I would like to thank all of the families who are coming out to tryouts.
Below is some information about the Tryout Process:
Thursday April 24th 6-9 pm - Groups 1-3 (East Bayfield)
*Players will be assigned to either Session 1A, 1B or 1C. Instructions will be sent to participants via email the day before*
Friday April 25th - 5:15 - 6:45 pm - Innisfil Rec
Saturday April 26th - 4:30-6 pm - Allandale
Sunday April 27th - 7:30 pm - vs Brampton - Allandale
TRYOUT PROCESS: You must pre-register your player on-line (BWHA Website) for the upcoming season. - Please arrive at least 30 minutes before the tryout begins.- When you arrive at the arena please go to the sign-in table and receive your players tryout jersey.

Your players tryout ID is your code that identifies you on the website. After the 1st tryout results will be posted 1.5 hours after the Group C session. After 2nd & 3rd tryouts, results will be posted 1.5 hours after each session. After the final tryout, results will be posted 2 hours after the tryout is completed.
After each tryout, a list of players (by their registration Tryout ID) will be posted on the BWHA U13AA team site indicating players that have been asked back to the next tryout. If a player’s registration Tryout ID is NOT listed, they are encouraged to attend the U13A tryouts.
The final 2025 -2026 roster will comprise 15 skaters and 2 goalies.
TEAM STAFF: Once the team has been selected, we will finalize key roles that include our team Manager, assistant coaches, trainers and a treasurer to the staff.
PLAYER POSITIONS: While we appreciate player and parent position preferences, please note that the coaching staff will have the option of modifying players positions before and during the upcoming season.
TEAM EXPECTATIONS: The 2025/2026 season will officially begin in August, with pre-season activities. The season schedule will consist of minimum 2 practices per week, with additional sessions dedicated to development nights. In addition, we will be looking to enter 5 tournaments (Non-US Showcase tournaments), all of which will be in Ontario.
