Withdrawal and Refund Policy
Where, following registration a player withdraws from a competitive team, house league team or women’s league team, the player may request a refund of registration fees paid to the BWHA. All refund requests must be submitted to the BWHA Treasurer using the Refund Request Form.
It is important to note that a Refund Request is NOT a notice of withdrawal, and should only happen AFTER a player has properly informed the appropriate individuals of their intention to withdraw.
A BWHA member may withdraw from a BWHA program or team with written notice to the corresponding BWHA Executive Director:
House League – [email protected]
Adult Women’s House League – [email protected]
Competitive – [email protected]
Development programs – [email protected]

-
If a player withdraws from a competitive team prior to September 1st and subsequently registers and remains in BWHA House League in the same season, the refund penalty of $450 outlined above shall not apply. The player’s refund amount will be equal to the full BWHA registration fees paid, less an amount equal to the house league registration fee (not including Non-Resident or late registration fees).
-
Following the withdrawal from a team, a player shall be immediately ineligible to participate in any team related activities.
-
The City of Barrie’s “Non-Resident fee” ($30 per player) is non-refundable for any reason.
-
The Treasurer shall, as part of their monthly report to the Board of Directors, provide a list of all refund requests received, including name, date received, refund penalty incurred and refund amount approved.
-
Any request to deviate from this policy and to either provide a different refund amount, or to provide relief from the defined deadlines, must be approved by the BWHA Board of Directors.
Refunds due to Injury and Illness
If a refund is required due to an injury and/or illness to a player, such a request must be completed and submitted within 30 days of the date of the injury/illness. A copy of the doctor’s note confirming the player’s inability to participate may be required, along with the Refund Request Form.
