To be eligible for reimbursement:

  • You must be a rostered coaching staff member required to complete a coaching course for the upcoming season.
  • Only new courses required to be completed for the individuals position in the current season, and which have not been previously completed, are eligible.
  • The course must be completed between June 1 and October 31 of the current season.
  • Your invoice for payment must be submitted by November 1 of the current season.
  • The expenses related to the course must not have been previously reimbursed, and will not be reimbursed in the future, by the BWHA, any BWHA team, or any other organization or program.
  • Proof of Certification must be provided.

Submission of Invoices

Reimbursement Process

  • Coaches will be reimbursed in the form of a credit towards their daughter's registration for the following year in which their course is completed.
  • If only the Development 1 (D1) trained component is completed, 50% of the expense will be reimbursed. The remaining 50% will be reimbursed upon completion of the certified component, which must be done in the following season.

o    For example, if you are coaching in the 2024/2025 season, the course must be completed by October 31, and the invoice for the completion of your course must be submitted no later than November 1 of the same year. If only the Development 1 trained component is completed, 50% of the expense will be credited in the 2025-2026 season. You have until October 31 of the following season (unless otherwise stated by Hockey Canada and the NCCP) to complete the Development 1 certified component to be eligible for the remaining credit reimbursement in the following season)

  • If your player is aging out and you will be unable to benefit from the credit, reimbursement will be provided directly via e-transfer or cheque.
  • If your player chooses to leave the association while you are still owed credit, this will not be eligible for reimbursement.

Please note that this program is a pilot for the 2024-2025 season. Prior to the end of the season, the BWHA will review the program to make a decision regarding continuing it in future seasons.
